Our Story
We’re a Miami-based team of passionate ocean enthusiasts — divers, surfers, environmental scientists & sailors — disrupting the marine construction industry with sustainable tech solutions.
Our Mission
Meet the team
Anya Freeman
Originally from Ukraine and together with her family lived in Israel, South Africa, and China before settling in Miami to attend law school, Anya Freeman brings a global perspective to solving climate change challenges. Before launching Kind, she founded Freeman Law Group and worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in environmental policy and litigation. Frustrated by the lack of innovation around rising sea levels, Anya took on the challenge of finding technological solutions to this global challenge that both supports the environment and has economies of scale.

Jeremy Morris
Jeremy Morris brings over a decade of experience in concrete, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. He previously served as Director of Precast Operations at The Boring Company and Director of Print Operations at ICON, where he helped scale the company to a $2B valuation. From leading robotic construction teams to optimizing large-scale precast systems, Jeremy’s mission is to push the boundaries of what’s possible in 3D-printed infrastructure.
Fun Fact: Was on the national team for Australian Rules Football
Andrew Valdes
Born and raised in Miami, Andrew grew up fishing in Biscayne Bay—a connection that fuels his passion for restoring local waters. After years abroad working with ABB Robotics in Zurich, Shanghai, and across the U.S., Andrew returned home to find a coastline degraded by pollution and flooding. Determined to revive the waters of his childhood, he joined Kind Designs to expand Living Seawalls™ across the globe.
Fun Fact: Can tie a perfect fishing knot in under 10 seconds.
Leandro Fernandez
A licensed Professional Engineer in FL & NY with over 15 years of civil and environmental engineering experience, Leandro has led the design and construction of more than 500 marine and seawall projects. His expertise in coastal structures and water resources ensures every Kind Designs product meets the highest standards of performance, resilience, and constructability.
Fun Fact: When he’s not designing seawalls, he’s surfing the waves—usually in Costa Rica.
Imey Adamjee
A Kenyan-Canadian innovator with a background spanning construction, software engineering, and project management, Imey bridges the gap between technology and field execution. He oversees the development and deployment of Kind Designs’ 3D-printed Living Seawalls™, ensuring seamless integration from digital model to physical product. Known for tackling any challenge head-on, Imey is the team’s go-to problem solver.
Fun Fact: Restores antique cars in his spare time
Maddie Rieger
Growing up in rural Vermont gave Maddie a lifelong respect for nature and a passion for conservation. After studying Ecosystem Science & Policy and Sustainable Business at the University of Miami, she witnessed Miami’s flooding and sea-level rise firsthand—and knew she wanted to help. Maddie joined Kind Designs to help build the next generation of sustainable, nature-inspired coastal infrastructure.

Charlotte Hoffman
Charlotte Hoffman leads Kind Designs’ R&D efforts, managing internal innovation projects, strategic partnerships, and academic collaborations. A published author in climate change and conservation, Charlotte graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with degrees in Ecosystem Science & Policy and Geography & Sustainable Development. Drawn from New York to Miami to study the frontlines of climate change, Charlotte now works to rewrite the city’s story through resilient coastal infrastructure.
Fun Fact: When she’s not on the job, Charlotte swaps concrete for saddles and horseback rides with her friends.
Diego Sarmiento
With a background in construction project management and marble fabrication, Diego brings a precise eye for detail and a deep understanding of material performance to Kind Designs. His experience operating CNC machinery translates seamlessly to large-scale 3D printing, where similar design parameters and technical controls guide precision manufacturing. Drawn by the intersection of design, engineering, and environmental restoration, Diego now applies his fabrication expertise to building the next generation of sustainable coastal infrastructure.
Fun Fact: When he’s not printing seawalls, Diego is competing as a professional bodybuilder.
Kendall Jaquez
Kendall leads Kind Designs’ residential and commercial segment, working closely with key stakeholders to deliver resilient coastal infrastructure solutions. With a background in complex project coordination and market growth, Kendall focuses on expanding this segment through strong relationships and forward-thinking development.
Born in Colorado and raised in the outdoors, Kendall developed a deep connection to nature through snowboarding, hiking, camping, and an active lifestyle. That early exposure fuels her passion for preserving natural beauty through innovation. Helping reimagine how coastal communities protect their shorelines while respecting the environments around them.
Fun Fact: When she’s not working on coastal projects, Kendall resets through yoga and time by the ocean.
Mikey Garcia
With a background in carpentry and construction, Mikey has spent years mastering the craft of building with precision and artistry. After working extensively in traditional formmaking and foundation work, he was ready for his next challenge—breaking away from the mold to master the emerging world of 3D concrete printing. His mechanical know-how and eye for detail make him an integral part of Kind Designs’ field operations, where craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology.
