This Living Seawall along the Venetian Way is already showing what’s possible when infrastructure doubles as habitat: in under a year, FIU scientists documented coral and other marine life colonizing the 3D-printed panels, turning a new seawall into a living research site. The project protects the property while giving researchers a real-world testbed to study how Living Seawalls can accelerate reef-building, water quality improvements, and urban marine biodiversity.
