Similar to my platters, my plates are completely functional and food safe. I recommend that they be hand washed. The sizes for plates vary, ranging from 5" x 5" up to 13" x 13". I don't concentrate on keeping them symmetrical, but most are square or almost perfectly square.
The inspiration I rely on for my designs comes from my daily mood and experimentation. Two designs basics have been utilized for plates I've completed this past year: 1) vibrant and colorful clear glass and 2) colorful opal glass placed over clear glass. In either case, each design/plate is custom made and unique, serving both as a functional plate or artistic addition to your collection. Thanks for visiting our website. Kind Designs Glass Studio is in Omaha, NE. I've been working with glass for 7 years. I've been focusing on unique layering techniques to create dichroic glass pendants, pins and earrings. I also make functional glass pieces, such as platters, bowls, & plates. The functional pieces mostly have a modern and retro look in the designs. I have recently been making Mezuzot, using dichroic and regular glass. The Mezuzot are beautiful and are a great gift.
In addition to my functional pieces and jewelry, I also create kiln sculptures. These are large beautiful pieces, designed to be hung in front of a window.
